US President Joe Biden said Monday that he plans to run for re-election in the 2024 presidential electionbut is not yet ready to announce it.
“I plan to run, but we are not ready to announce it yet,” Biden said during an interview on ‘Today’, a television program on NBC.
Biden has said he intends to be the Democratic candidate in 2024, but has not made a formal announcement. Both Biden and US Vice President Kamala Harris have said they will run together.
Top White House advisers are set to make final decisions on the release of the re-election campaign Biden, NBC News reported, citing several unnamed sources.
“The decision part is over, but [a Biden] he resents the pressure of having to announce what he has already decided,” a source familiar with the matter told NBC.
