WhatsApp works on a section in group chats that collects pending approval requests

Capture a video call in a group conversation – GOAL

WhatsApp is working on a new section, which will be included in group chats, which will list pending requests from users who have sent a request to join a conversation.

The company has been working on new features for the app’s group chats for months. Among them, the possibility that the participants know which other users left the conversation or were expelled in the previous 60 days.

In addition, in August it became known that it was developing a new feature aimed at moderation, which will allow the administrators of a group to approve the entry of new members manually.

So, WABetaInfo anticipated that the users who appear as administrators of the groups would have all the authority in this ‘waiting room’. That way, they could decide whether to accept or reject requests sent by other contacts through an invitation link.

This same portal has now commented that this section will be called ‘Pending Participants’, as it has warned in the last beta of WhatsApp for iOS, developed through the TestFlight program.

Only group administrators will have access to this space on the platform, since only they will have the power to approve the entry of new members in the group chat.

WABetaInfo has indicated that this function continues in development and that, at the moment, it is unknown when it will be available to users of the iOS version of the application.
