Can the most expensive and powerful RS6 outperform the longest-roofed Bimmer?

Both the BMW M3 Touring and the Audi RS6 Avant are German high-performance wagons that combine practicality and speed. However, there are significant differences between them in terms of power, engines, transmissions and weight. GarvovHowever, each measurement must be compared beyond the spec sheets.
In this video, the new BMW M3 Touring challenges the Audi RS6 Avant in an endurance race. Not only was it a typical straight run, the weather conditions weren’t great either, demanding more traction from these two outfields. The pairing between these two cars is slightly flawed in favor of the Audi over the BMW.

Starting with the power outputs, the Audi RS6 Avant has an advantage over the BMW M3 Touring. It is equipped with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that makes 592 horsepower (441 kW) and 590 pound-feet (800 Newton-meters) of torque. The M3 Touring also features a pair of turbochargers mated to a 3.0-liter inline-six engine that produces 503 hp (375 kW) and 479 lb-ft (650 Nm) of pulling power. The Audi has a significant advantage in terms of power, although weight is another point of contention.
The RS6 Avant is larger than the M3 Touring, weighing in at 4,575 pounds (2,075 kilograms), compared to 4,112 pounds (1,865 kg) for the Bimmer.
Both long-roof cars come with all-wheel drive trains that offer excellent traction and handling. However, Audi’s quattro all-wheel drive system is known for its excellent grip and stability, especially in bad weather conditions. Did you have an advantage in this particular wet race?
After several attempts, the German wagon race for supremacy came down to having the best traction at launch. The M3 Touring, despite being a segment below the RS6 Avant, shows what it takes to outperform the class. Watch the video above to see the results.
