The activists protested the alleged human rights violations committed by the French company in the construction of a controversial oil pipeline in Uganda.
Dozens of students from a lobby group opposing the construction of the East African Oil Pipeline (EACOP) also rallied in front of the building to show their support.
The London Metropolitan Police reported that they had arrested 27 people “for a combination of suspected criminal damage and aggravated trespassing”.
TotalEnergies stated in a statement that it “fully respects the right to protest and freedom of expression, but deplores all forms of violence, whether verbal, physical or material.”
