The new British Prime Minister, Lizz Truss, held telephone conversations this Saturday with the French president and other world leaders.
“President Macron has expressed his deepest condolences on the loss of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II,” Downing Street said in a statement.
Truss thanked Macron for his words and agreed with the French president on the value of the “strong UK-France relationship” in the face of issues such as “the energy crisis caused by (Russian President Vladimir) Putin’s illegal war” and “Other Security, Defense and Strategic Issues”.
Truss has also spoken this Saturday with the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi; with the Polish Prime Minister, Mateusz Morawiecki, and the Dutch Prime Minister, Mark Rutte, as reported by the British Government.
