TikTok and Bumble have joined the initiative that combats the dissemination of intimate images without consent on digital platforms, an action popularly known as revenge porn.
StopNCII is an initiative that serves victims of revenge porn, a cybercrime in which someone share intimate images of another person without consentusually of sexual content, with the intent to do harm.
Specifically, it works with associated technology companies to detect and remove intimate images, preventing them from continuing to share ‘online’.
Until now, Facebook and Instagram were listed as StopNCII’s industry partners, but the list has grown this Thursday with the incorporation of the social network TikTok and the service to meet people Bumble, as reported in a press release by the charity SWGfL, responsible for the initiative. .
The head of Product Policy, TikTok, Julie de Bailliencourt, assures that on the platform “there is no place for this type of behavior or malicious content” and that with the association with StopNCII.org they strengthen “efforts to stop the spread of images non-consensual intimate relationships and improve support for victims.
