Tickets for the first game of the BSN final will only be obtained at the Ruben Rodriguez Coliseum

The Bayamon Cowboys announced on Wednesday that the sale of tickets for the first game of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN) final against the San German Athletics, to be held on Monday at the Ruben Rodriguez Coliseum, will be sold from 9:00 am on Thursday at the Ciudad del Chicharron facility.

Cowboys management indicated that there will be no online sale. The largest number of lockers that can be purchased is six. Prices will be between $11 to $35. Only passes for the initial meeting will be available.

The announcement created unrest on social networks among the Atleticos fans, who will have to go to Bayamon in an attempt to get space for the games on the “Orange Monster” road.

The Cowboys, who are looking for the 16th title in their history, held a press conference with the presence of the quintet’s season-ticket fans to give details of the logistics for the local matches of the BSN championship series.

For people who stay out of the games, a “viewing party” will be held in the outdoor square of the coliseum with giant screens, more food kiosks and merchandise from the squad, starting at 5:00 pm For the games in San German, the activity will be moved to the “Parque de los Trailers” in the urban center of Bayamon.

“I was talking about it with the president (Ricardo Dalmau). It’s a shame that San German doesn’t have a coliseum like ours because taking all our fans is almost impossible. It is very unfortunate because in the regular season when we played with them in San German there were 500 fans and 450 were from Bayamon”, said Melvin Roman, vice president of the Cowboys.

“Now that the final is coming, 2,950 of them and 50 of us are going to go. We teach them to be good fans, to feel and follow the team. It’s not just when the team is in the playoffs and finals,” he added.

In addition, people with tickets for the games in Bayamon will be able to use the Tren Urbano free of charge. The public transportation service will extend the schedule if the matches are extended.

At the conference, the mayor of Bayamo, Ramon Luis Rivera Cruz, indicated that the bathrooms of the Juan Ramon Loubriel Stadium will be available for matches. Also, he pointed out that there are generators in the facility to avoid any intervention with the electrical system.

The Cowboys returned to the final after sweeping the four-game semifinal series against the Leones de Ponce. They did the same thing in the quarterfinals against the Piratas de Quebradillas.

“We are not satisfied with just getting here. Our goal is bigger. We respect our adversary, San German, who has done very well. They have overcome many obstacles to be here. They’re here now to put on a show for the fans, to play high-level basketball. They are going to represent their people and we are going to represent ours”, said Nelson Colon, leader of the Cowboys.

“We are aware of the commitment we have. Let there be no doubt. From Monday we will deliver soul, life and heart in this. There is no way that this championship will not stay here in Bayamon”, he added.

San German, meanwhile, provided the upset by finishing off the 2021 champions Capitanes de Arecibo in five games of the semifinal to return to the championship ball for the first time since 1997 under manager and former Atletico player Eddie Casiano.

The second game of the final will be on Wednesday at the Coliseo Arquelio Torres, where the Atleticos maintain a 16-game winning streak.
