The United States Justice has charged four people for the death of 53 migrants who were found dead at the end of June inside a truck in the town of San Antonio, in the state of Texas.

In what the Government has described as the deadliest incident in the history of the United States in relation to human trafficking, a jury has given the go-ahead to present charges against Homero Zamorano Jr, Christian Martinez, Juan Claudio D’Luna Mendez and Juan Francisco D’Luna Bilbao for what happened.

The first two, the driver of the vehicle and his alleged accomplice, have been charged with causing the death of dozens of people who did not have documentation after conspiring to transfer them from one place to another, according to information from the CNN television network.

If found guilty, they could face the death penalty, as indicated by the United States Department of Justice. Both were arrested after the Police reviewed several security videos and analyzed a series of telephone communications.

Mexican citizens D’Luna Mendez and D’Luna Bilbao, meanwhile, have been charged with illegal possession of weapons and could face up to ten years in prison.
