Senior White House officials have warned that Russia could be preparing false evidence to incriminate Ukraine in last week’s attack on a prison in Elenovka, which killed more than 50 people.

Elenovka will soon be the destination of representatives of third countries, and even the United Nations has already announced that an investigation commission will be created for what happened. In this sense, sources from the US Administration have detailed to CNN that the White House has “reasons to believe” that Russia could even involve the United States.

The source has warned that Moscow has in mind “to make it appear” that “Ukrainian ‘HIMARS’ (missile launch systems) are to blame” before journalists arrive on the scene. The ‘HIMARS’ are American-made and the White House has already sent several batches of weapons with these missile launch systems.

In fact, late Wednesday, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov assured that the attack on Elenovka, where more than a hundred Ukrainian soldiers were interned, had been carried out with ‘HIMARS’ systems. .

On July 29, the town of Elenovka was the scene of an attack that reached a prison taken over by the Russian Armed Forces and in which more than a hundred Ukrainian soldiers were inmates. Since then, both kyiv and Moscow have blamed each other for the attack.
