The Peruvian Prosecutor’s Office announced this Thursday the opening of an investigation against the country’s president, Pedro Castillo, for alleged crime against the administration of justice or personal cover-up.

This process takes place just two days after the now former Minister of the Interior Mariano Gonzalez denounced that the president obstructed Justice and linked his departure from the Executive to the case opened against relatives of Castillo.

In fact, Gonzalez has assured these days that his dismissal occurs after having promoted the creation of the special team of the National Police that was going to collaborate with the Prosecutor’s Office, according to the RPP radio station.

“I have no doubt that this abrupt departure is intended to obstruct the administration of Justice,” denounced the Minister of the Interior, alluding to the search for the relative of President Fray Vasquez and former presidential adviser Bruno Pacheco, accused of corruption.

After these words, the Public Ministry summoned former Minister Gonzalez to testify on Wednesday, who was dismissed by surprise at the beginning of the week and gave way to Willy Huerta, who is already the seventh in charge of the Interior since Castillo took office about a year ago. .
