The president of Peru, Pedro Castillo, has announced that on Friday he will swear in his new ministerial cabinet, the fifth in just over a year in office, after the resignation of Anibal Torres as prime minister.

“Tomorrow we are going to swear in the cabinet, and in the call that we make, the political actors who believe in the country are welcome,” the president detailed in statements to the press, before whom he has invited all the political parties to form a “a broad base to work for the country”, collects ‘La Republica’.

Until now Prime Minister Torres put his case at the disposal of the president on Wednesday, arguing his decision on “personal reasons”; a movement that leads Peru to a new government team since July 2021, when Castillo took office.

Thus, Castillo will announce on Friday the name of the person in charge of taking the reins of the Head of Government, a role that has been played until now by the aforementioned Torres; Hector Valer, who held the position for just seven days; Mirtha Vasquez, who lasted less than four months as ‘premier’, and Guido Bellido, who was forced to leave the post after just over two months by order of the president himself.
