The authorities of the Netherlands have reported this Friday that the country has joined the training program for Ukrainian forces carried out by the United Kingdom and have clarified that the Dutch military personnel will begin their mission this month.
Ukraine’s Defense Minister, Oleksiy Reznikov, has confirmed the information and noted on his Twitter account that “the better trained the military, the closer the victory” of Ukraine over Russia. Thus, he has thanked his Dutch counterpart, Kaisa Ollongren, for the support and help received.
A first group of Ukrainian servicemen arrived in the UK in early July to take part in the training program announced by the British authorities, which includes the use of weapons, assistance on the battlefield, military tactics and legal issues in the framework of an armed conflict.
This week, the Finnish Ministry of Defense reported that it will send around twenty soldiers to the United Kingdom to collaborate in the military training program for members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Previously, Canada also joined the program and confirmed that it would send more than 200 military personnel, mostly instructors, to the United Kingdom for more than four months.
The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson, promised to the Ukrainian President, Volodimir Zelensky, to train Ukrainian troops on British soil in order to increase Ukraine’s defensive capabilities in the context of the war.
