The Argentine Justice has declared the attacker, Sabag Montiel, and his partner, Brenda Uliarte, responsible for the crime of attempted assassination against Vice President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner.
Judge Maria Eugenia Capuchetti has prosecuted them as “co-authors” of the crime and has seized assets worth 100 million Argentine pesos (698,571 euros) each, as reported by the Telam agency.
According to the 95-page resolution, which even includes testimonies from people present during the assassination attempt, Montiel and Uliarte have been found guilty of the crimes of use of weapons, treachery, as well as the planning of two or more people in the attack, judicial sources have reported.
However, the decision of the judge in charge of the case does not affect the other two detainees, Agustina Diaz and Nicolas Carrizo, who are accused of having collaborated with Uliarte in planning the attack, according to ‘La Nacion’.
Sabag Montiel, 35, was the person on September 1 who pointed and wielded a weapon twice at the Argentine vice president, while his 23-year-old Uliarte appears in the investigation as the one who planned the attack together with the aggressor, as it arises from the resolution to which Telam has agreed.
