The Atlanta Braves fall in a game in which Eddie Rosario hit two hits

PHILADELPHIA — Alec Bohm hit the go-ahead single into a five-run fifth inning and added an RBI double in the sixth as the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Atlanta Braves 7-2 on Wednesday night for two of three in the series.

Kyle Gibson (6-4) allowed two runs on four hits in six innings. The Phillies (51.47) tied St. Louis for the final NL wild card.

Bohm, batting seventh for the Phillies, extended his personal best hitting streak to 12 games. He had consecutive games with more than one hit for the first time since making his major league debut in 2020. He has had 20 hits in 41 (.488), with nine RBIs in that streak, raising his average to .293 in the season.

Errors by Charlie Morton (5-5) and second baseman Robinson Cano helped the Phillies rally in the fifth inning. Atlanta had committed just 40 errors before the game, third-fewest in the majors, behind Seattle (32) and St. Louis (33).

For the Braves, Puerto Rican Eddie Rosario 4-2. The Venezuelan William Contreras 4-0. The Dominicans Marcell Ozuna 4-1 and Cano 4-0.

For the Phillies, the Venezuelan Odubel Herrera 3-1 with a run scored and an RBI.
