The ‘anti-aging shake’ with which this 63-year-old doctor has reduced his biological age by 20 years

Longevity expert Dr. Mark Hyman shared his morning routine with Business Insiderwhich includes a protein-packed shake.

Hyman is 63 years old, but claims his “biological age” is 43partly thanks to the way he begins his days, as he explained to the journalist Gabby Landsverk.

After a 30-minute strength workout, Hyman prepares a smoothies which he describes as a “healthy aging smoothie”.

It’s packed with vegetable nutrients, healthy fats and 48 grams of proteina, which helps build and maintain muscle. “As you get older, muscle mass becomes more important. It’s a fundamental part of healthy aging,” Hyman stresses.

here is the smoothie recipe which Hyman shared on Instagram:

Hyman gets 48 grams of protein by adding whey protein to his shake, he explained to Landsverk.

Writing about her morning shake on Instagram, Hyman pointed out that many of these drinks have too much sugar, which dietitian Nichola Ludlam-Raine previously highlighted to Business Insider.

“Seeds, almond butter and MCT oil are a great source of healthy fats to keep you energized, full and focused“Hyman wrote. “Collagen has healing and anti-aging properties, and I try to use vegetables like frozen zucchini or cauliflower to add a little creaminess to my smoothieinstead of relying on bananas that are high in sugar.”

Hyman primarily uses low-glycemic fruits such as blueberries, which are rich in antioxidants and delicious too, Hyman wrote.

“This kind of shake will make you feel great all morning,” she said.
