The complaint documents obtained by local media explain that an employee of the Building Character shopping center, where the event occurred on December 27, 2022, showed the police images of the actress entering a dressing room with a blouse and leaving without it. According to her agent, there was no theft but an error with the credit card, so there was no intention on the part of the model to steal the garment: “There was a confusion because the blouse was not charged correctly to the card from my client. In no way did she admit to taking the blouse, as that is not the case.”
In addition to denying the facts, Cherry’s representative has accused the Lancaster store of taking advantage of his client’s fame: “This story seems to be more about an establishment that trades in the name of a celebrity than anything else.” In the video provided by the venue, you can see the employees entering the same fitting room from which the actress had left minutes before to check if the blouse was there. By not being there, she began the process of denouncing a petty theft. According to the complaint, Cherry will have to appear for a preliminary hearing on March 1.
