The South Korean authorities have announced this Tuesday that they will deliver three million dollars (about 2.8 million euros) to the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) to promote the export of Ukrainian grain to vulnerable countries that are experiencing problems of feeding and drought.
Thus, the Government has indicated that it has decided to join the ‘Grain from Ukraine’ initiative with the aim of contributing to the export of grain through the Black Sea and to countries such as Ethiopia, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen.
The country’s Foreign Ministry has indicated that Seoul “supports the initiative, understood as a significant contribution to international efforts to help alleviate the global food crisis.”
The Ukrainian president, Volodimir Zelenski, urged during the G20 summit to participate in this initiative and presented a road map in this regard.
