MADRID, September 15 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Maria Zajarova, announced this Friday that the expulsion of three officials from the Embassy in Skopje, North Macedonia, a few days ago “will not go unanswered.”

“We observe that the North Macedonian authorities continue to advance along the path of worsening the confrontation and are leading bilateral relations, which are already in a deep crisis, to a dead end,” said the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson.

Zajarova has pointed out that the expulsion of these three diplomats is a “hostile and irresponsible attack” by Macedonian leaders who seem to want to demonstrate once again to the “Western guardians” the importance of having to fight against an “imaginary Russian threat.” .

Earlier this week, North Macedonia declared three Russian diplomats persona non grata. In March 2022, in the midst of the invasion of Ukraine, authorities in Skopje expelled five others and six more in April of that year.
