The youngest of Tina Turner’s children, Ronnie Turner, passed away on Thursday, December 8 in San Fernando, California, at the age of 62. The causes of his death are still unknown, although in recent years he suffered various health problems and was diagnosed with cancer. It was his wife, Afida, who reported his death through a post on her Instagram account: “My God, Ronnie Turner. A true angel. My husband, my best friend. I did my best until the end, this time I couldn’t save you. I have loved you during these 17 years.
Tina Turner has also dedicated an emotional message to her son through her Instagram account: “Ronnie, you left the world too soon. With pain I close my eyes and think of you, my dear son, ”the 83-year-old singer shared with a black and white photograph in which she appears with her eyes closed.
Tina Turner has been the mother of four children, only two of whom are alive. She had the first of them, Craig Raymond Turner, when she was 18 years old, in 1959. Her father was Raymond Hill, a saxophonist for Kings of Rhythm, the band of what would be Tina’s first husband, Ike Turner. Craig would later be adopted by Ike when he married Tina in 1962. Craig Raymond Turner maintained a life out of the spotlight, dedicating himself to real estate. He was 59 when he died so tragically, but he will always be my baby.”

In 1961 his second son, Ronnie Turner, was born from his marriage to Ike Turner. Ronnie did follow in his parents’ footsteps, dedicating himself to music as a bass player in his parents’ bands and even having a role in the 1993 autobiographical film, What’s Love Got To Do With It, written by Tina Turner herself, in which Angela Bassett played the singer and Laurence Fishburne played her husband Ike. Ronnie was married to the French singer Afida Turner.
During her relationship with Ike, who had six children, Tina Turner adopted two of them: Ike Turner Jr. and Michael Turner, who were born during Ike’s previous relationship with Lorraine Taylor. With the first of them, the artist barely had a relationship, as he himself revealed in an interview with the British newspaper Daily Mail in 2018. The second of them, like Craig, preferred to live a life out of the spotlight.
