The president of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, has charged this Friday against his American counterpart, Joe Biden, for his statements about “liberating Iran” and has once again described the United States as “the Great Satan”, within the framework of the mobilizations in the country on the occasion of the seizure in 1979 of the US Embassy in the capital, Tehran.

“The president of the United States stammered a few words in a moment of distraction stating that he seeks the liberation of Iran. Mr. President, Iran was freed 43 years ago from captivity and will never be your milk cow again,” said Raisi, who has added that “to this day, the symbol of arrogance is the ruling caste in the United States.”

Biden claimed during a speech in California on Thursday that the United States will “liberate” Iran. “Don’t worry, we are going to liberate Iran. They are going to liberate themselves very soon,” she said, an apparent reference to anti-government protests following the death in September of a woman detained in Tehran for allegedly wearing the wrong headscarf.

In response, Raisi has said that “arrogance seeks to destroy many nations and peoples of the world and endangers their material and spiritual interests to achieve their interests,” while praising the seizure of the Embassy in the United States. “Without it, the fight against arrogance would be incomplete,” he argued, according to the Iranian news agency Mehr.

Likewise, the Iranian president stressed that the new Iranian generations have “the same positions” towards the United States as those expressed during the Islamic Revolution, while emphasizing that the country “will not be intimidated by sanctions and threats” , which “will not harm the Iranian nation’s path to progress.”

“Do they really think that we will be stopped by threats and sanctions?” he asked. “They try to slow down the movement of the Iranian nation, but it is only a dream. Our men and women will not allow their malicious dreams to come true. They wanted to isolate Iran, but they have failed,” Raisi said.

During the day of this Friday there have been mobilizations at the national level in the framework of the National Day of Fight against Global Arrogance, which coincides with the 43rd anniversary of the seizure of the US Embassy, in the midst of the Islamic Revolution of 1979.

The occupation of the Embassy was carried out by a group of students who kidnapped the 52 employees of the legation for 444 days in denunciation of Washington’s support for the Shah’s regime and its interference in the affairs of the country. The two countries broke off diplomatic relations and have not resumed them since.

Tensions between Washington and Tehran have increased since the United States withdrew in 2018 from the 2015 nuclear agreement and rebounded in January 2020, after the US Army killed the head of the Revolutionary Guard’s Quds Force in a bombing raid in Iraq. Qasem Soleimani.
