Prince William and Prince Harry’s maternal uncle are not interested in attending King Charles’s coronation in May.
Diana’s younger brother, Charles Spencer, spoke about the upcoming ceremony during an appearance on Monday’s off-air episode of the Jane and Fi podcast.
Asked if he would go to the coronation, he said: “I wouldn’t have thought of it, I think there were only about 2,000 people there.”
In response to another question, Spencer said, “I think about Diana every day in a different context. Actually, the whole royal thing, I don’t find it as interesting as a lot of people, you know? Life,” said Charles. «I take care of what I have to take care of on the farm, I have a business, I write books, etc. People obviously think that I worry a lot about those things, but that’s just a part of my life.”
Asked by presenter Jane Garvey if he would play a ceremonial role in the May 6 convocation, the author and historian explained: “I don’t think we ever had an official role in it, we all introduced ourselves as usual, which were the Peers and the House of Lords.” “It’s not like that. There’s an old crown hanging around somewhere, but I won’t be wearing it anytime soon, I don’t think.”
Many royals expressed disappointment at Charles’s thoughts on the coronation, while others expressed support for Princess Diana’s younger brother, who was killed in a 1997 car crash.
