Pentiment reveals its release date

The narrative game set in the Middle Ages is coming soon to Microsoft consoles but also to Xbox Game Pass.

Youngest of the development studio Obsidian Entertainment, Pentiment has just lifted the veil on its release date. Scheduled for November 15the game will be available on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Windows 10/11, Steam, Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass. For the most impatient among you, you are possible to pre-order it today and pre-install it on the Game Pass so make sure you play it day one.

Pentiment plunges us into the 16th century at the time of the Holy Roman Empireand more precisely in the fictional city of Tassing, not far from Kiersau Abbey, in Upper Bavaria. As we embody Andreas Maler, an itinerant artist, this one will be the witness and at the very least involved in several cases, even going as far as murder.

A DA inspired by the illuminations of the time

It’s up to us to investigate and find out the truth. Pentiment will also allow us to decide Andreas’ level of education, his past and his way of carrying out his investigation which will take place for nearly 25 years. Of course, like any good narrative game, our decisions and choices will have a strong impact on the story and how it unfolds. In order to solve this mystery, we will be able to sneak into the library of the abbey to look for clues and discover forbidden texts or to go to the tavern to question the inhabitants around a game of cards. .

For the graphic design of Pentiment, the developers were inspired by the woodcuts and illuminations and drawings of the copyist monks to bring us brilliantly back to the troubled times of the Middle Ages.

At Gamescom in Cologneit was possible to get hold of the demo of the game that confronted us with the first murder. Unfortunately for those who had the chance to test it in preview, you will have to wait patiently for its release to continue the adventure.

Don’t forget to note in your diary the release of Pentiment on November 15 on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Windows 10/11, Steam, Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass for €19.99.
