one plus has presented the new version of its customization layer, Oxygen OS 13which will debut soon in the model OnePlus 10 Pro 5G and it will bring with it novelties such as improved performance and a minimalist interface, inspired by nature.

In mid-February, the Chinese technology company confirmed that it was still working on Oxygen OS 13based on Android 13, despite having announced in 2021 that its flagship would debut in 2022 with a different operating system.

In this way, OnePlus ruled out the creation of the new operating system that it promised after its merger with Oppo in September 2021 and that it would integrate OxygenOS into ColorOS to create an operating system that combines the characteristics of both.

As OnePlus announced at the end of July, the company has integrated the next generation of its operating system into the new OnePlus 10 Pro 5G, thanks to an open beta available for download soon.

OxygenOS 13 features a nature-based aesthetic called Aquamorphic, inspired by a calming and minimalist design, highlighted by softer, rounded edges. In addition, its colors change to adapt to the time of day the device is used and the ‘widgets’ promise to be more accessible through a long press.

The new iteration of OxygenOS also includes performance improvements thanks to AI System Booster. This technology allows to suspend more ‘apps’ at the same time, to be able to move from one to another and offer a more fluid experience.

OxygenOS 13 also features various always-on display models or Always On Display (AOD), that present notifications such as time or battery status without consuming too much energy and that now offer greater levels of customization.

OnePlus has also released other new features of its new customization layer aimed at greater ease of use. This is the case of Smart Launcher and Sidebar Toolbox.

Smart Launcher allows faster access to apps in folders through larger icons on the home screen. In addition, it also offers the possibility of adding ‘widgets’ of the applications preferred or that the user uses the most.

For its part, Sidebar Toolbox includes easier access to all applications. Also, the user is offered the ability to customize the ‘apps’ that appear in this tool.

OxygenOS 13 also takes into account the performance of video games with hyperboostan engine that integrates a series of functions aimed at increasing the playable performance by reducing the fluctuation of the frame rate and improving the touch response speed of the device, among others.

Sound enhancement is also present in the new OnePlus through sound technologies, among which are Spatial Audio, Dolby Atmos, Fast Pair and Audio Switch.

The first of these, Spatial Audio, allows you to adjust the direction of the sound in different ‘apps’ in search of the best experience. On the other hand, OxygenOS 13’s support for Dolby Atmos offers a wider sound field and more accurate spatial perception of sound.

In the case of Fast Pair, this feature makes it faster and easier to connect a device with compatible wireless headphones, headsets, smart TVs, and more. With Audio Switch, the user can seamlessly switch from one audio device to another for a smoother sound transition.

OxygenOS 13 also incorporates two features to share content: Nearby Share and App Streaming. The first allows you to transfer content between Android and Windows devices with greater ease and speed. The other offers the possibility of transmitting the content of the ‘smartphone’ screen to other devices Chrome OS nearby.

Privacy and security are also present in OxygenOS 13. To begin with, this new version will automatically warn the user about those ‘apps’ and downloads that may pose a risk to their device.

This new iteration of the OnePlus operating system also promises to shield the location of the ‘smartphone’, even when connecting to a public WiFi network and free access.

With OxygenOS 13 also debuts a new version of the security feature Private Safewhich protects data, documents and files in a virtual safe so that other applications cannot access them.

OnePlus has offered a calendar of dates with the devices that will integrate or be eligible to update to OxygenOS 13. The new customization layer will debut soon on the OnePlus 10 Pro 5G, before arriving on the OnePlus 10T later in the year.

The rest of the phones in the OnePlus premium range that will be eligible for the update to OxygenOS 13 are OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro, OnePlus 8T, OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro, OnePlus 9R, OnePlus 9RT, OnePlus 10 Pro and OnePlus 10R.
