Here’s a message (and emoji) for the haters of the Democrats’ spectacular and now infamous Oscar dress.

The co-writer of Rihanna’s Oscar-nominated ballad “Lift Me Up” turned social media on during Sunday’s ceremony, with viewers wondering just how difficult it must have been to sit behind her dramatic white gown.

Almost 24 hours later, the Democrats responded to the criticism with a cheeky tweet:

Dems’ outfit appeared several times throughout the ABC broadcast, most notably when host Jimmy Kimmel entered the audience for special segments. Those who sit next to and behind Dems, including his co-head Tech, can regularly be seen craning their necks to look around the fashionable ensemble.

Unfortunately, there is still no official information on who will sit directly. behind Dems, his vision was completely blocked for the rest of the night.

Demes was nominated for Best Original Song for the emotional song “Lift Me Up.” Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. She co-wrote the music with Ryan Coogler, Ludwig Goranson, and Rihanna. She and Coogler wrote the lyrics.
