Open Seathe market for non-fungible tokens or NFT, has shared his bet for prevent the theft and resale of these digital assetsone of the main challenges of the crypto ecosystem from which this platform has not been spared.

Links are one of the main concerns in the theft of NFTs, due to the fraudulent use that they can be made of by cribercriminals. The most common seek to attract the attention of their victims through collection lists or unwanted NFT transfers.

The OpenSea platform has implemented a new system that scans the ‘url’. When this system does not locate them in a list of malicious urls, it performs a series of simulations to interact with them in order to detect risk behaviors.

“Fraudsters who try to propagate detected malicious links will have your blocked accounts, your delisted collections, and your blocked transfer requests when they use OpenSea”, states the platform on its blog.

On the other hand, when an NFT theft has already occurred, on this or another platform, the cybercriminal can attempt to resell this digital asset. To prevent this action, OpenSea has started testing a system that detects theft in real time.

This measure joins the one currently used by the platform, by which marks an item suspected of being stolen, for later review, which prevents its resale. They also contact the previous owners to verify if the transaction was legitimate.

Thefts are not unrelated to this platform, which it is considered the largest NFT market in the world. For example, earlier this year OpenSea co-founder and CEO Devin Finzer acknowledged a ‘phishing’ attack that resulted in nearly $2 million worth of NFT being stolen in just three hours. Previously, the Check Point company had warned of the theft of virtual wallets and the loss of cryptocurrencies in OpenSea.
