The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, through the General Secretariat of Digital Administration attached to the Secretary of State for Digitization and Artificial Intelligence, has announced the new My Citizen Folderwhich has been updated with a mobile application and a virtual assistant, to improve the relationship between the Administration and citizens.

My Citizen Folderwhich so far only was available in its web versionis in a beta version, and with it the Government seeks to offer citizens access from a single point to all their information in relation to public institutions, as explained during the presentation event attended by Europa Press.

This “citizen empowerment tool”, as it has been defined by the Government, also aims to reduce both the digital divide and travel and the unnecessary use of face-to-face resources.

To do this, the new My Citizen Folder includes two major new features: a new mobile ‘app’ and a virtual assistant called Ada, capable of understanding and guiding the user to the corresponding section where the requested information appears.

From My Citizen Folder, users will be able to carry out various procedures such as consulting their data in different administrations, such as real estate and unemployment benefits, in addition to downloading supporting documents in PDF whenever possible. All this information will be offered in real time.

Citizens will also be able to see a calendar with their different appointments in different public bodies, as civil registries. They will also be able to check the processing status of their different files and confirm the expiration date of certain documents, such as their ID and passport.

The new My Citizen Folder also incorporates notifications in its mobile version. Through them, the user will receive alerts from both central Administrations and those Autonomous Communities that have already integrated this service.

To access this tool, the user must be authenticated through the methods available in the Clave system, the common identification platform for public services: PIN Code, Permanent Code, Electronic Certificate or DNIe.

The General State Administration has been in charge of its development, a task for which it has had a budget of 750,000 euros, which also includes subsequent modifications. At the security level, the tool includes medium-level measures based on what is dictated by the national security scheme

From the Government they have not imposed a number of downloads of the ‘app’ as an objective, but they have recalled that the web version is already a highly requested service that has amassed more than 26 million accesses in the month of August.

The new My Citizen Folder is now available in both its web and mobile versions. Its launch has taken place in the form of a pilot program, which will run until the end of the year with a view to its definitive debut in 2023.

From this moment on, both the web and the ‘app’ make available to the user a form from which suggestions are collected for make changes in the future. In this way, any person, association or institution can participate and submit their comments.

50% OF DIGITAL PUBLIC SERVICES, ON MOBILE BY 2025

Between now and the end of the year, the roadmap for this initiative is to improve the notification system to incorporate those from new bodies, such as the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT).

Throughout the first half of 2023, the Government plans to include high security accreditations in order to carry out more complex tasks. In addition, it anticipates incorporating the virtual assistant, already present on the web, in the mobile ‘app’. In the same way, it is intended to introduce the possibility of carrying out new procedures, such as the change of address.

In the second half of 2023, the incorporation of additional personal data consultation services is expected. In short, with this measure it is expected that 50 percent of digital public services will be accessible via mobile by the end of 2025.
