Minsait, an Indra company, Red Hat and Intel have joined forces to digitize electrical substations by creating an open collaborative ecosystem around a scalable Edge Computing solution called Onesait Phygital Edge.

This solution with advanced security capabilities allows facilities to be virtualized in order to offer more advanced services based on the use of artificial intelligence, as Minsait explained in a statement on Monday.

Thus, high and low voltage operators will be able to speed up the digitization of their processes, virtualize their hardware and start deploying this infrastructure. The solution will be operated from the different control centers of the operators through an edge computing scheme and containerization of applications and physical equipment.

The company has already begun deployments in extended demonstration environments within the low or medium voltage infrastructures of several operators on the Iberian Peninsula, with reductions of 47% in maintenance costs and a 55% reduction in the deployment time of new use cases.

The solution is part of Minsait’s Phygital proposal, a unit with 800 professionals that develops solutions that seek to connect the physical and digital world.
