Microsoft begins rolling out Outlook Lite on Android devices

microsoft is starting to roll out a new Android app called Outlook Lite, which promises to keep the essential features of the standard version of this messaging service, and offer them in a fast and optimized format.

The company announced this alternative to the official application in early July, when it specified that this version would be suitable for “low-end devices and any network” through its website.

Now, Microsoft has integrated this app into the Android app store, where it is already available for download in some countriesas TechCrunch has advanced.

At the moment, only users from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, India, Mexico, Peru, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey and Venezuela will be able to access this service.

However, the company has indicated to this medium that will consider adding more countries with access to Microsoft Outlook Lite to this list in the future, among which Spain could be found.

As detailed in the Play Store, this email service works with Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft 365, Outlook, Hotmail, Live and MSN.

Also, the app is about 5MB in download size and uses little phone storage. is optimized to run quickly on all devices, including those with 1 GB of RAM.

To download this version, the first of the service, it is necessary to have it installed on the ‘smartphone’ android version 5.1 or subsequent updates to the operating system.
