
Steven Yeun makes his Marvel debut in Thunderbolts. The Oscar-nominated actor’s role is under wraps, sources said Deadline He will play a major role that could spill over into future Marvel projects.
In the comics, the Thunderbolts focus on a group of anti-heroes sent on missions by the government. Previously announced stars include Florence Pugh (Yelina Belova), Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier), David Harper (Red Guardian), Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Valentina Allegra de Fontaine), Wyatt Russell (American Agent), Hannah John-Kamen ( Ghost) including and Olga Kurylenko (head of tasks). Bear’s Ayo Edebiri also joined the cast in an undisclosed role.
Jake Schreyer is directing Thunderbolts from a script written by Black Widow screenwriter Eric Pearson. Thunderbolts is scheduled to hit screens on July 26, 2024.
Yoon is best known for his role as Glenn Rhee on AMC’s The Walking Dead from 2010-16. After leaving the show, he starred in films like Okja, Sorry to Bother You and Minari, which earned him his first Oscar nomination for Best Actor in a Leading Role. Other notable credits include Tuca & Bertie, Invincible, and Jordan Peele’s Nope.
On the Horizon, Yoon stars opposite Ali Wong in the Netflix and A24 drama series Beef and Bong Joon Ho’s sci-fi thriller Mickey 17.
