    Lenovo renews its ThinkPad professional laptops at MWC: its Z13 Gen 2 attracts attention thanks to its recycled linen casing

    Lenovo has not wanted to miss another year at the obligatory appointment of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona and, as usual in the Chinese brand –world leader in PC by units in 2022, with a 14.1% share according to Canalys– , has traveled with lots of new devices under the arm.

    This Monday, Lenovo has introduced 15 new models of laptopsmost of them (13) belonging to the ThinkPad series of notebooks for professional use.

    Within the framework of the MWC, Lenovo wanted to highlight its commitment to the ThinkPad familywhich recently celebrated 30 years since its inception within IBM, until the Chinese company later bought the computer division of the traditional American brand.

    Here I tell you the most outstanding devices that Lenovo has presented at MWC 23:

    ThinkPad Z13 Gen 2 innovates with a new bio-based material that mixes aluminum and flax fiber

    The 2 highest-end models within the new batch of devices announced by Lenovo are the ThinkPad Z13 and Z16 Gen 2.

    In this second generation of professional laptops, the 13-inch model stands out especially, since it is the first device in which the company has used a new material that combines aluminum and recycled linen fiber.

    In this way, the casing of the device, with a 75% recycled aluminum, is reinforced with natural fibers adhered to the upper part. This material comes from 100% agricultural products collected by gathering fibers from the flax plant, and give the carcass a coppery appearance.

    As for the rest of the features, the Z14 and Z16 Gen 2 family offers thinner bezels than the previous generation, and has AMD Ryzen 7000 Series mobile processors with AMD Radeon graphics, up to 64 GB of Dual Channel memory and up to 2 TB of PCIe SSD.

    In addition, it has an FHD camera, WiFi 6E connectivity, Dolby Voice microphones and access to video call control by pressing the red dot in the center of the keyboard twice, the characteristic TrackPoint of the ThinkPad family.

    ThinkPad Z13 Gen 2 will be available from July for an estimated price starting at 1,649 euros. ThinkPad Z16 Gen 2 will launch in August starting at €1,959.

    Rest of ThinkPads: 11 professional laptop models for different needs and budgets

    Lenovo has wanted to update its family of ThinkPad computers with another 11 models of professional laptops with different features.

    After the previous ones, the highest-end ones are the standard ThinkPad X13 Gen 4 and the ThinkPad X13 Yoga Gen 4, with a 360-degree hinge to make it convertible.

    These computers stand out because they have narrower and more elegant bezels that increase the screen-to-body ratio for your 13.3-inch 2.8K OLED panel that is Dolby Vision enabled. Add to that configurations to choose between 13th generation Intel Core ™ processors with Iris Xe graphics or AMD Ryzen 7000 Series with Radeon graphics.

    The ThinkPad X13 Gen 4 will be available from July for an estimated price of 1,190 euros, compared to 1,290 for the ThinkPad X13 Yoga Gen 4.

    Another 3 new models are the ThinkPad T14 Gen 4, T14s Gen 4, and T16 Gen 2with optional 5-megapixel cameras with infrared and low blue light display options to protect vision from eye strain and up to OLED display with 2.8K resolution.

    The ThinkPad T14, T14 and T16 will be available from July 2023 from 1,590, 1,345 and 1,390 euros, respectively.

    Other new models are ThinkPad L13 Gen 4 and L13 Yoga Gen 4, which add to the flow with displays with low blue light. They will be available from April from 839 and 980 euros, respectively.

    For their part, the ThinkPad L14 and L15 It is renewed with SSD storage units of up to 2TB, double that of the previous generation. They can be purchased from May from 775 and 755 euros, respectively.

    The 2 remaining models of professional laptops are indicated for small and medium-sized companies: these are the ThinkPad E14 Gen 5 and E16 Gen 1. They offer specifications such as screens with an aspect ratio of 16:10, screen-to-body ratio of more than 90%, touchpad bigger touch.

    Its configurations can go up to 13th Gen Intel Core or AMD Ryzen 7030 Series chips, memory options up to 40GB, dual SSD storage up to 2TB, optional Wi-Fi 6E wireless connectivity, and 47Whr battery options or 57 whr.

    ThinkPad E14 Gen 5 and E16 Gen 1 will be available from June. The prices will foreseeably start from 770 and 780 euros, respectively.

    IdeaPad family grows with new entry-level convertible and Chromebook

    Along with the news of the ThinkPad professional family, Lenovo has presented at MWC 2 new entry-level IdeaPad series computers: on the one hand the IdeaPad Duet 3i convertible and on the other the IdeaPad Slim 3 Chromebook laptop.

    IdeaPad Duet 3i It is a convertible with a light and thin format, just 8.95 millimeters thick and a 11.5 inch touch screen with 2K resolution, 100% DCI-P3 color spectrum and 400 nits of brightness. It also has a 5-megapixel front camera and an 8-megapixel rear camera and an optional stylus.

    IdeaPad Duet 3i completes its specifications with an Intel N Series processor, WiFi 6 and up to 8.5 hours of battery life with fast charging. It will be available from June with an estimated price that will start from 449 euros.

    The IdeaPad Slim 3 Chromebook will be available from May 2023. Prices are expected to start at EUR 349.
