The Japanese consul in the Russian city of Vladivostok, Motoki Tatsunori, has left Russia two days after being arrested after being accused of illegal actions carried out on Russian territory.

As explained by a police source to the Russian agency TASS, the Japanese consul has embarked on a flight to the Russian capital, Moscow, to go later to Japanese territory.

Tatsunori, in fact, has left the country within the maximum period that Russia had granted him to leave Russia, which was two days.

In a statement, Russian authorities explained on Sunday that the Japanese consul had been arrested after being caught “red-handed upon receiving monetary compensation in exchange for information on aspects of Russia’s cooperation with countries in Asia and the Pacific.” “.

They also accused him of delivering information on the “impact of the sanctions imposed by the international community”, especially in the Primorski Krai region, whose capital is Vladivostok.

Subsequently, the Russian Foreign Ministry summoned the Minister Counselor of the Japanese Embassy to express a severe warning and deliver the corresponding note. The detained Japanese diplomat, Motoki Tatsunori, was declared persona non grata and given 48 hours to leave Russia.

The Japanese side, however, insists that Tatsunori has not done anything illegal, expressing its protest and demanding an apology.
