Iran warns of “preventive action” by the Palestinian resistance against Israel in “hours”

Iran warned this Monday of a possible “preventive action” against Israel “in the next few hours”at a time when the Hebrew country is preparing for a ground offensive in the Gaza Strip.

“A possible preventive action by the resistance axis is expected in the coming hours,” declared the Iranian Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, in a live broadcast on state television, speaking about his Saturday meeting with Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.

Tehran has repeatedly warned that a ground invasion of Gaza would provoke a response from other fronts, generating fears of a major conflict involving other countries.

Earlier on Monday, Amir Abdollahian and Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi had said time was running out to reach a political solution and warned of the expansion of Iran and Hamas’ war to other fronts.

The Iranian diplomatic chief maintained that “the leaders of the resistance” They will not allow Israel to “do whatever it wants in Gaza”.

War with Hamas

Israel declared war against the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas a day after fighters from this movement invaded Israeli territory on October 7 and killed more than 1,400 people, mostly civilians.

In response, Israel has heavily bombed the Gaza Strip, killing at least 2,750 people, mostly civilians.

Israel is currently preparing a ground invasion of the Gaza Strip, where fear is growing over the situation of Palestinians trapped in the enclave under Israeli attacks.
