Pixel and Samsung phone users began reporting the problem this Thursday, as reported by 9to5Google. In a statement, Google confirms that they are aware of what is happening.
Specifically, they have explained that it is a data access problem and that contact data is not directly affected. You have also confirmed that you have already released a fix.
