    German police arrest the perpetrator of a kidnapping in a Dresden shopping center

    The German Police have confirmed the arrest of a man accused of kidnapping a group of citizens, all of them rescued unharmed, in a shopping center in the city of Dresden, in the east of the country.

    At first, the city’s security authorities have recognized that the situation was confusing and have proceeded to evacuate both the shopping center and the adjacent areas, as well as a Christmas market also in the vicinity.

    Later, after finally being able to contact the kidnapper by telephone, the Police confirmed the arrest of the author, who was injured, as well as the release of the hostages, all of them unharmed.

    While the operation was still underway, the Police have confirmed the death of a woman in an apartment block. The main suspect would be her son, a 40-year-old man who would also be responsible for the kidnapping in the shopping center.
