Formed the ballot to fill the vacancy of former senator Henry Neumann

The New Progressive Party (PNP) held this Tuesday the draw for positions on the special election ballot to fill the vacancy left by the former senator for District I of San Juan, Henry Neuman.

After the draw, the ballot remained with the first quadrant for the representative Juan Oscar Morales and the second quadrant will be occupied by Segismundo Gutierrez Jovet, Neumann’s former assistant.

“All eligible and registered voters in precincts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 of San Juan, precinct 6 of Guaynabo and precinct 81 of Aguas Buenas will have the right to vote in the next special election to be held on June 11. September 2022. For said electoral event we will have 137 voting centers that will be open from 9:00 in the morning until 3:00 in the afternoon.”, indicated Vanessa Santo Domingo, the electoral commissioner of the PNP.

He added that tomorrow is the deadline for voters to request an absentee vote. While today, Tuesday, the period that voters have to register, request reactivation or transfer ends, it was reported.

For his part, the secretary of the PNP, Carmelo Rios, assured that the candidates “are not rookies, they are solid within the PNP and have vast experience,” for which he thanked the fact that both made themselves available to continue serving the Party.

“We will see a campaign among colleagues and of height as our Party and the electorate deserve. We are expecting a substantial amount of participation. For our president and governor, Pedro Pierluisi, the participation of the base of the community is important. The mobilization depends largely on the campaign carried out by the colleagues, but if we let ourselves be carried away by the number of endorsements they achieved in record time, we have no doubt that we will exceed 2,000 voters,” said Rios.

The special election to choose Neumann’s replacement will be on September 11.

Neumann resigned from his position as senator for the San Juan senatorial district effective June 30.
