The Democrats hope to consolidate their dominance in the Senate in the second round of the elections in Georgia to the upper house, whose early voting begins this Saturday, and which once again pit their candidate and current occupant of the seat, Raphael Warnock, against the Republican Herschel Walker.

A Warnock victory would give the Democrats an especially important absolute majority when it comes to designating the committees in charge of ratifying the nominations to the Judiciary that the president of the country, Joe Biden, wanted to present.

Early voting, prior to the bulk of the elections to be held on December 6, takes place thanks to permission granted by the state Supreme Court, after the Republican Party denounced that voting could not continue on the Thanksgiving holiday. Thanks.

The Democratic Party responded that the law applied only to primary and general elections, and not to runoffs, as in this case.

This second round takes place after neither candidate reached 50 percent of the votes needed to win outright in the first round on November 8. Warnock obtained 49.4 percent of the ballots, against 48.5 percent of his opponent, according to official results.
