The former president of Colombia Ivan Duque celebrated this Tuesday the news about the elimination of requiring visas for Colombians traveling to the United Kingdom, and has assured that it is due to “months of work” by his government.

The president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, announced on Monday that the United Kingdom had decided to stop requiring tourist visas from Colombian citizens, thanking the British authorities for this action.

After this, Duque has exposed his management on his profile on the social network Twitter, where he has asserted that during his tenure he worked hard to ensure that Colombian tourists enjoy this benefit.

“There were many months of work. I want to thank and congratulate the UK authorities for eliminating the visa for Colombians,” said Duque in a message showing his gratitude to former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and to the then minister of Foreign Affairs and now head of Government, Liz Truss.
