The commander of the Libyan National Army, Khalifa Haftar, pointed out, during a visit to the city of Kufra, located in the southeast of the country, that the solution to the tense situation in the country after the latest clashes in Tripoli, which have left at least 32 dead and 159 wounded, lies in the people’s support for the Army.

In the context of the clashes, the United Nations Independent Investigation Mission in the country has called for a cessation of hostilities, while condemning the use of firearms, as well as the fact that the armed groups have not taken measures to safeguard civilians and their property from the impact of the fighting.
