The Minister of Defense of Colombia, Diego Molano, has denounced this Tuesday that the Clan del Golfo would be offering up to 4.5 million euros (20 million Colombian pesos) to anyone who attempts against the life of members of the Armed Forces.

“The institutions of the defense sector are willing to counteract the members of the armed groups that put a price on the lives of the uniformed men, in particular the Gulf Clan that offers between five and 20 million pesos for affecting the integrity of the members. of the Armed Forces”, Molano has indicated, as reported by the Colombian radio station RCN.

Likewise, Molano has warned that the Clan del Golfo has created a ‘pistol plan’ against the soldiers and police, with the intention of carrying out a political negotiation.

“To all those who have dared to put a price on the life of a hero for five million pesos, we warn you that we are going to persecute you until the last moment of this government to capture and prosecute you,” said the minister.

In this sense, the head of the Defense portfolio explained that “for alias ‘Richard’, head of a substructure of the Clan del Golfo, the reward amount has gone from 200 to 500 million pesos.”

“The case is also repeated for three more ringleaders, alias ‘Indio Zulia’ alias ‘Soldo’ and alias ‘Montañero’, who are part of the most wanted cartel that is spreading among Colombians today,” added Molano.

In this context, he said: “we are going to continue until the last minute of our Government, with the military and police forces, capturing, prosecuting and bringing to justice those responsible for these crimes, so that they pay the maximum penalty, 60 years, by virtue of the citizen security law”.

Thus, Molano has ruled that he expects all those responsible for these attacks to be sentenced to the maximum sentence of up to 60 years in prison.
