Brave News interface -BRAVE

The Navigator brave has introduced a new section, Brave Newswhich displays a ‘feed’ that includes personalized news from different sources of information from the service, such as the media or blogs, in a format similar to Google’s Discover.

Brave is a private web browser created by the inventor of the JavaScript programming language and co-creator of Mozilla and Firefox, Brendan Eich, which was released in November 2019 and which it is focused on privacy.

The company has indicated that this alternative to Google Discover is now available for use in Spain, both in the Desktop versions (Windows, macOS and Linux), and in mobile versions on iOS and Androidwhich will allow “100 percent private” browsing, as specified on its website.

Specifically Brave News offers an updated and customizable news channel based on a list of information sources previously selected by the user from more than 300 media and information sources.

In this way, this section may include news published on social networks, the media or print and digital press, blogs or popular publishers. All of them will be updated automatically throughout the day.

Brave has also announced that it will be possible to establish a system to classify news according to its theme (international, sport, training, business, finance, fashion, lifestyle, cryptocurrencies, etc.).

The company has detailed how this ‘feed’ works, which filters content based on various aspectssuch as the publication date or user preferences.

Even though it takes your browsing history into account, Brave has insisted that respects “at all times the anonymity” of users and is based solely on the actions recorded on the device being used.

Brave has qualified that Brave News is currently a free service, although it hopes to offer a version for subscribers, paid and without ads, “later”.
