Blake Lively sponsored Wrexham training kit

Wrexham, Wales –

Wrexham’s shirts will have a Hollywood flavor next season.

The Wales soccer team has its latest celebrity tie-in and Hollywood co-owner Ryan Reynolds keeps it in the family.

The Deadpool star’s wife, Blake Lively, will sponsor the team’s training kit starting next season through her Betty Bus non-alcoholic beverage company.

“Our team had, of course, heard of Wrexham AFC, but once we officially heard about their refreshing vision, we knew it was the perfect official match for our sparkling, refreshing drink,” Lively said.

Wrexham has gained a worldwide following since Reynolds and co-star Rob McElhenny bought it in 2021 for $2.5 million.

A documentary series about the team has been broadcast around the world, making its players, managers and fans household names.

Reynolds and McElhenny have used their own popularity to raise the profile of the club, which spent 15 years out of the English Football League before being dramatically promoted last month.

Wrexham’s growing exposure has led to a shirt sponsorship deal with social media platform TikTok, while there is also a tie-in with Expedia.

Lively attended the games with her husband as Wrexham won the National League with a total of 111 points. After reaching the fourth division of English soccer, Reynolds and McElhenney rewarded the team with a trip to Las Vegas.

A new 5,000 seat grandstand is being built at the club’s racecourse to increase capacity to 15,000. The team is touring the United States this summer, playing LA Galaxy II and Premier League teams Manchester United and Chelsea.
