At least eight people have died this Wednesday in an armed confrontation in the Mexican town of Guachochi, in the northern state of Chihuahua.
Two of the bodies of the deceased were burned, while one person had serious injuries, for which he has been transferred to a hospital for medical treatment.
According to the newspaper ‘El Sol de Mexico’, among the victims could be one of the operators of the Sinaloa Cartel in the southern zone of Chihuahua, identified as Melquiades Diaz Mez.
Local authorities have indicated that, in addition, two vehicles have been incinerated. Agents of the National Guard, the Secretary of National Defense (SEDENA) and the Secretary of State Public Security (SSPE) have been deployed at the scene of the incident.
The expert services personnel, the Prosecutor’s Office and the forensic medical service have carried out the removal of the bodies to the corresponding proceedings, reports ‘El Universal’.
