Jack “Asmongold” encountered a game-breaking crash moments after entering Diablo 4 that wiped out his character, forcing him to restart his game from the beginning.
Blizzard’s new ARPG is the highly anticipated entry in the popular Diablo franchise. Those who pre-ordered certain versions of the game got access to the beta over the weekend. As a longtime Diablo fan, Ashmongold is one of many creators who will be streaming the game soon.
However, minutes after claiming the streaming privilege, a server crash hilariously disconnected him from the game. The OTK co-founder got angry and quit the game:
“This is disgusting. What a silly game!”
Asmongold’s Diablo 4 hilariously crashes seconds after claiming bug immunity as a streamer
After a bit of progress in Diablo 4, the transmitter follows the NPC and finds itself in a restaurant. After a few shots, he was informed by his audience of a massive ‘tc’ or a bug that cut off some of them.
However, due to his status as a content creator, Jack assured them that he was safe before he made the terrible mistake of clicking on a random NPC:
“DC incoming? No, I’m not going to DC. I’m a streamer, I’m special… It won’t be a problem guys, I’m not worried about it. So let’s see what happens when I interact. As a random NPC.”
Interestingly, as soon as I clicked on the old lady in the restaurant, Asmongold’s game crashed and a dialog appeared on the screen:
“Disconnect network. Game disconnected: Your client has been disconnected from the server.”

After staring at the screen in disbelief, Ashmongold tried to start a new game and was pretty pissed off considering he had just started playing it. But even that isn’t the worst part, as he soon discovers that the character of him, so painstakingly personalized at the beginning of the last play, is completely gone and irretrievable. He roared:
“What is this? Come on! I thought I was a streamer, how is this happening to me? This is disgusting, what a dumb game! Wait, where is my character?
After trying several times, he finally got back into the game and said that whatever the problem was, it didn’t bother him. He said:
“Has this happened to everyone? No, no, no, it’s not like that. Trust me, it’s not a big deal.”
Thankfully, Ashmongold was right, and after freaking out about the popups saying he was logged out of his account, the streamer logged back in. Skipping all the opening screens, he casually started playing the game.
Some fan reactions to the game.
Here are some comments from a clip shared on YouTube. Most of them mocked Blizzard, the developers behind Diablo 4, for a bug that could wipe entire character save files from the game.
Diablo 4 will have another beta, open to all players this coming weekend of March 24-26. The official release date for the full game will be in June, so fans will have to wait a while to get their hands on it.
