Anthony Bass of the Toronto Blue Jays shares anti-LGBTQ2S+ video

Toronto Blue Jays relief pitcher Anthony Bass is back in the social media spotlight after sharing an anti-LGBTQ2S+ video on his Instagram.

On Monday morning, Bass shared an Instagram story from another user that encouraged people of Christian faith to ignore Target and not engage in its business.

“It’s evil, it’s demonic, we’re not going to tolerate it, we’re not going to go to the stores anymore, we’re not going to give them our money.” says the original poster in the clip.

Earlier this month, Target announced that it is removing some of its LGBTQ2S+ merchandise across the country. After receiving backlash from some customers, it is moving its Pride merchandise to the back of some South American stores.

One of the vendors, Aprellan, sold items including a “Cure Transphobia, Not Trans People” sweater, a “Very Queer Here” tote bag, and a “We Are Everywhere” fanny pack.

said the designer. He was accused of being a satanist and marketing his work to children. – “It is common to accuse LGBT+ people of participating in immoral or illegal activities to denigrate them, regardless of the truth behind the matter,” said the artist in an Instagram post.

“Since the launch of this year’s collection, we have experienced threats that affect the safety and well-being of our team members at work,” Target said in a statement to The Associated Press.

According to the retailer, customers tore down Pride displays in some stores, antagonized workers and posted threatening videos on social media from inside Target.

In a statement to CTV News Toronto, the Toronto Blue Jays said they are committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming experience for all of their fans.

“The sentiments of individual players do not represent the beliefs of the club,” the statement said.

The Jays said they are proud to celebrate Pride Month, including hosting it. June 9 and 10 is the fourth annual Pride Weekend at Rogers Center, and “Coalition Demonstrations Around the Ballpark All Month Long.”

The video remained on Bass’s Instagram story until Tuesday morning. CTV News Toronto attempted to contact Bass via Instagram but received no response.
