The Japanese authorities have reported this Tuesday that 22 elementary school students from Toyonaka, in the north of Osaka, have been transferred to a hospital after a “strange smell” caused them discomfort.
After 9:00 a.m. (local time), a school official reported to the Fire Department that there was a strange smell at an elementary school in the city of Toyonaka, NHK reports.
Of 33 children who presented symptoms, only 22 of them have been transferred to a health center. The rest of the students and educational staff have been evacuated from the classrooms and taken to the school gym.
The Firefighters have explained that the children, aged between 6 and 11, had mild symptoms.
The emergency services are investigating whether there is an anomaly at the scene, using detectors, but without detecting any anomalous gas for the moment.
