The war in Ukraine has shaken the lives of millions of Ukrainians. Bombings, massive recruitment, deaths, the dilemma of exile… In just one year their lives, worries and hopes have taken a tremendous turn. Absolutely everything revolves around the war.
“It has been the most difficult year of my life and the life of all Ukrainians. I am sure that victory is yet to come, but we do not know how long we will have to wait and how many more victims there will be before that happens. This is the only thing that worries all Ukrainians now,” says Diana Shestakova, an employee of a publishing house.
“More weapons, yes, we need them so that the war ends as soon as possible. But the more weapons there are, the more hostilities there will be, it is a vicious circle. It is a double-edged sword, on the one hand there are good things, but on the other there are problems and consequences”, says Boris, a stockbroker.
“Yes, times are very hard, it cannot be compared with a calm life. But there is life, just as spring comes, victory will come the same way. Because good always wins,” said Alla Valentinovna, a Ukrainian pensioner.
A year has passed since the war shook their lives and nothing points to a quick resolution of the conflict.
