Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have underestimated how much cachet they have in the world of Hollywood, a former friend of the Duchess of Sussex has claimed.
According to Express.co.uk, TV presenter Nick Eate claims to have been friends with Meghan even before she met Prince Harry.
Former actress Meghan Markle, who is married to Prince Harry, has stepped down from her royal duties to work in California with her husband and two children.
Nick says he asked Meghan to host the London Global Gift Gala at the ME Hotel on November 19, 2013 and says they’ve been friends for a few years.
Speaking to the Daily Express, he said: “She came in and we became good friends. You know, we had a really good, fun, good relationship. We’ve been friends for a few years.”
Nick, Host of Royal Agenda on Royalty TV: “It’s really interesting to see what she’s like in LA now that I know her. I have many friends who live there and they know what her reputation is. I like her and she has changed a lot. »
A former friend of Meghan’s said: “I think you’re forgetting that Hollywood royalty don’t have titles. It’s J.Lo, it’s Sharon Stone, it’s Beyoncé, it’s the Kardashians. That is the royalty of her ».
Nick said: “I think they came in and thought they were the number one people on the block and they really weren’t.”
He added: “They really are way below that pecking order. And I think that’s been a problem for them in the sense of resigning.”
Meghan and Harry are making headlines as King Charles’s coronation approaches.
It is not yet known if Meghan will accompany Harry to the coronation.
