17-Year-Old Teen Who Leaked GTA 6 Pleads Not Guilty

He became in a few hours public enemy number 1 for Rockstar Games and Take Two, and a hero for many players: a 17-year-old teenager was arrested for leaking GTA 6, one of the most anticipated games of recent years on PC and consoles. Many videos of the still secret game have been revealed, and, having part of the source code in hand, the author of this leak had blackmailed the studioasking for a financial arrangement not to reveal the rest.

The FBI and British justice then took matters into their own hands and announced very quickly the arrest of a 17-year-old young man, who would also be a member of the group Lapsus$, at the origin of piracy at Nvidia or Samsung. Spotted by london policein an operation carried out jointly with the National Crime Agency, the alleged author of this hack, as well as that of Uber, was brought to justice and now pleads not guilty to two of the counts.

He is charged with two counts of “misuse of a computer”, having used his phone to hack businesses, which he continues to deny. He attests, however, breaching his bail conditions, following a previous arrest earlier this year for other cyberattacks. He should be heard by another court soon. In the meantime, he is incarcerated in a penitentiary center for young people.
